Visit the port city of Valparaíso

Please join the Columbia Alumni Association of Chile and the Harvard Club de Chile for a visit to the port city of Valparaíso. We will be given a guided tour of the recently curated Antarctic Room at the Museo Marítimo Nacional, followed by lunch at the historic Navy Club and a visit to a 19th-century house on Paseo Atkinson in Cerro Concepción.

We will begin the day at 10:30 am at the Museo Marítimo Nacional, where the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies is one of the primary sponsors and curators of the Antarctic exhibit, the first of its kind in Chile.

Lunch will follow at 1 pm at the Club Naval. There are two menu options for adults, at 23000 pesos each, and a kids menu for 7000 pesos. Once you confirm your attendance we will send you more details, including parking information and where to transfer payment for lunch. In the afternoon we will walk to the Cerro Concepción to visit a traditional 19th-century house, owned by Valparaíso cultural heritage advocate and porteño Gonzalo Ibáñez Santa María.

There is limited capacity so reserve your spot now! This is a family-friendly event so come with your kids and explore one of Chile’s most underrated museums, in one of the most fascinating (and maddening) historical cities, Valparaíso!

The addresses are the following:

Museo Maritimo Nacional: Paseo 21 de Mayo 45, Cerro Artillería. There is limited on-site parking. You can find information about ticket prices and other exhibits here.

Club Naval: Condell 1586. The Club has paid parking.
