The Columbia Alumni Association of Chile, together with Columbia Global Center Santiago and the School of Communications and Journalism at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, hosted an exclusive gathering for the Columbia Alumni community focused on “Journalism: Change and Democracy.”
The event featured Jelani Cobb, Dean of Columbia Journalism School, who shared his perspective on the current challenges facing journalism, its role in times of social and political change, and the importance of a strong and independent press for the health of democracy.
The conversation also included Constanza Santa María, journalist at MegaMedia and Columbia University alumna, who contributed her perspective from Chilean and Latin American journalism. Her reflections enriched the discussion on public trust, the transformation of media, and the role of journalists in today’s society.
Held at the Errázuriz Campus of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, the event offered a valuable opportunity for dialogue, exchange, and connection among members of the Columbia Alumni community in Chile.
We extend our sincere thanks to Jelani Cobb, Constanza Santa María, Daniel Matamala, Columbia Global Center Santiago, and the School of Communications and Journalism at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez for making this meaningful conversation possible.
