The Columbia Alumni Association of Chile held its traditional annual gathering, an event in which more than 60 alumni of Columbia University came together to close the year, reconnect, and celebrate the achievements of our community.
During the event, we presented the Outstanding Columbia Alumnus of the Year 2025, a distinction that recognizes an exceptional member of our association. This year, the award was granted to renowned journalist Delia Vergara (MA & Art Education 1964, Journalism School), founder of Revista Paula and recipient of the 2025 National Journalism Award in Chile.
Throughout her career, Delia Vergara has played a pivotal role in transforming the practice of journalism in Chile and has significantly contributed to the public conversation on the evolving role of women in a rapidly modernizing society. Her professional legacy and commitment to high-quality communication make her a truly deserving recipient of this recognition. We extend our sincere congratulations to Delia.
As has become tradition, the gathering took place at Bottega Gandolini, a venue that has become a regular meeting point for our association, providing an ideal setting for conversation and strengthening connections. We would also like to express our special appreciation to the Columbia Global Center Santiago and its director, Antonio Campaña, for their continued support of our activities.
The year 2025 was an especially active period for our Association, with numerous events, initiatives, and opportunities for engagement. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Columbia Alumni Association of Chile, we thank all alumni who participated in and supported our activities throughout the year.
We wish everyone an excellent end to 2025 and look forward to reconnecting in 2026 with renewed energy and collaboration.
