The Columbia Alumni Association of Chile and the Harvard Club de Chile organized a visit to the port city of Valparaíso on May 13. Alumni and their families went to the Museo Marítimo Nacional, where Professor Marco Fernández offered a guided tour of part of the museum's collection and the Antarctic Room. The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies is one of the sponsors and curators of the Antarctic exhibit, the first of its kind in Chile.
Following the visit to the museum, alumni had lunch at the historic Navy Club and visited the 19th-century house of cultural heritage advocate and porteño Gonzalo Ibáñez Santa María on the Paseo Atkinson in Cerro Concepción.
